Ayios Georgios church
In various locations around Lysos there are many remarkable landmark churches such as the church of Ayios Georgios built in the 13th century were frescoes of Saint Mama can be found and is still protected by the antiquitys department. With an abundance of natural water Lysos was used in Cyprus as an industrial area for the melting of metals. The fountain located by the church and built in the 1900’s was made entirely of stone including the five taps of which were used to supply fresh drinking water.
